I’m María José Newman, and Ámbar Fabrics is the result of 25 years understanding fashion from the inside.

For more than two decades I have worked in the world of fashion, helping brands, independent designers and large retailers turn an idea into a real garment. My path includes experience in industrial-scale production, where I learned what it means to answer for large volumes without losing control of quality.

I have walked through every stage of the process —development, material selection, production, the final detail— and along the way I understood that producing well is not just a technical matter: it’s understanding the essence of each brand and translating it into product.

Over those years I built something that can’t be improvised: an international network of trusted factories in China, Brazil, Italy and Peru, and a close, flexible way of working here in Chile. That dual capability —agile local and proven international— is today the heart of Ámbar Fabrics.

I believe in the potential of Latin American fashion and in its global reach. That’s why my work is not only to produce: it’s to connect the creative talent of brands with real opportunities to grow, at home and beyond their borders.

I approach every project with the conviction that a good collection reflects the identity of its creator, responds to the market and stands the test of time. Ámbar Fabrics is my professional evolution turned into solutions for your brand.

My specialty was born in denim, and it remains our signature: years of craft that gave us a deep command of the most demanding garment in fashion. On that foundation, today we work a much broader offering with the same rigor.
